REPENT

Repentance is turning AWAY from sin AND turning TOWARDS God.

A person who "repents" acknowledges that what they've said or done is WRONG in God's view according to His Word, statutes, and precepts. A person who refuses to acknowledge God's view, or God's commands, or God's designs or ideas IN HIS WORD... MAY find that they do NOT believe TRULY in God Almighty. You might find it helpful to visit the FAITH page and think about what TRUE faith is, and what it is not. A person who repents says, "I'm sorry God. I know I should not have done that (or said that). I know YOU say it is wrong. Please help me not do that (or say that) again." God is gracious. That means that He exhibits grace. A massive amount of grace, actually. He is far more gracious than any human. Grace is receiving what we do NOT deserve, like second, third, or fourth chances (or 85th chances). Like rewards or blessings. Like mercy. Like forgiveness. In this, to receive these things and NOT be sorry and continue to do these things against God ON PURPOSE is blatant disobedience towards God Almighty who created us, loves us, and sent His only begotten Son to live, suffer, and die on our behalf. It's like receiving something wonderful from someone and giving them the middle finger in return. It is just evil and wicked.

Those who truly KNOW God and who truly repent, love God. Those who refuse do not love God. Heaven will be filled with people who love God. Do not be deceived to think that everyone goes to Heaven. If that were true, no one would need Jesus, and He would have come and died for nothing. This is blasphemy against God.

Below, we will explore God's Word to see what He says about repentance.

REPENTANCE IN GOD'S WORD

Proverbs 28:13

One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper,
But one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion.

EXPLANATION

If a person tries to hide the wrong thing that they did, God says that person will not grow, will not be strong, and will not be successful (prosper). In this, a person will not see strength, growth, and success blessed by God. That is not to say that Satan will not step in to provide these things, thus encouraging that person to continue to not repent.
Conversely, a person who admits their wrongdoing to God and LEAVES that wrongdoing behind (not continue doing it purposefully) will find sympathy, pity, and concern from God (compassion).
